The community of Majur is in Sisak-Moslavina County north of
Kostajnica. On-line issue of the county official gazette (<www.glasial.hr>) contains a
decision on amendemnts to the Statute of the Community: Odluka o
izmjenama i dopunama Statuta Opcine Majur, 9.10.2001.
Slubeni vjesnik, br. 19/01
The amendments include descriptions of the Coat of Arms and the
flag: Or an Ant Sable. The flag is red with the coat of arms in
the middle. Ratio 1:2.
I was not able to find any images. As the decision do not include
much else of amendments, these are probably due to the recent
adoption of the symbols (or indeed these constitute the adoption
itself).

The web site of
the community include two drawings of the Coat of Arms: here
and here.
Anothe photo
shows a table flag of the community, although one could easily
miss it behind the flowers on the table. It would be even harder
to notice it on another photo where it
is almost completely hidden by the county table flag.

The amendments to the Statutes in the gazette 19/2001
introduced the descripton of the Coat of Arms and the flag, as
explained above. The same descriptions are included then in the
2002 and 2006 Statutes, however, the new 2009 Statutes do not
have it any more. This does not necessary mean that they have
been discontinue, and on the community
web site one can see enough photos showing either the Coat of
Arms or the flag, however it is a bit odd.

In the mean time I received an answer to my inquiry to the
community authorities, explaining that the community still uses
the same symbols and that exclusion of their description in the
statutes was simply a matter of formality, as the legal services
deemed it unnecessary to have it described both in the statutes
and a valid decision, anyway, it is a procedural matter.
However, they have kindly sent me copies of the decision adoption
the symbols and of the Ministry of Administration approval. The
Ministry approved the design after a proposal for the decision,
following which the community formally adopted the proposed
decision, issued in the "Slubeni vjesnik"
gazette. The decision includes an explanation of the symbolic,
stating that the ant represents "diligence, building and
persistence of the inhabitants though long and turbulent
history". The ration of the height to width of the shield is
stated 4:3, but all the depictions of the Coat of Arms I have
seen (including one received with these materials) the shield is
shorter than that, approximately 5:4. The flag is red with the
Coat of Arms in the centre of it, in width to length ratio 1:2,
the height of the Coat of Arms being 1/2 of the flag width.

The ceremonial flag is mentioned to be bordered with golden
fringe. According to Mrs. Kristina Grbea of the Majur
Community administration, the ceremonial flag was not produced so
far, although they hope to have one made soon.
