Overview

The Community of Kaptol is in the Požega and Slavonia County some 10 km due north of Pozega on the southern slopes of the Papuk mountains. 3,500 inhabitants, some 1,300 in the main town. As the name suggest this was in medieval times a seat of church authorities, renewed after the liberation from Turks in 18th century. Even if small the place has still a certain urban character entirely different from the typicial Slavonian villages.
The Coat of Arms is shown on the County web site <www.pszupanija.hr> as well as on the community site <www.opcina-kaptol.hr>. No flag info for the time being. The Coat of Arms is gules an epicopal staff or between a key also or wards to the chief dexter and a sword erect argent hilted and pommed or. The church in Kaptol is dedicated to St. Peter, so they charges refer to the Saint and the former bishopric.

The Heraldic Art site provides us with the flag drawing. The flag is red with yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.

The community of Kaptol in the Požega-Slavonia County should not be confused with the former municipality of Kaptol of Zagreb.
The community of Kaptol web site was moved to <opcina-kaptol.com> where it now incudes the new 2009 Statutes in the local official gazette: Statut Opcine Kaptol, 26.06.2009, Službeni glasnik Opcine Kaptol, br. 3/2009, 24.11.2009.
The articles 5 and 6 describe the Coat of Arms and the flag. The Coat of Arms is "in semicircular shield, in red field a golden key, a bishop's staff and a sword", while the flag is "monocoloured, red in width to length ratio 1:2. In the centre of it at the crossing point of the diagonals, on both sides is set the coat of arms bordered with golden/yellow ribbon."
This Statutes supersedes the 2001 Statutes, which, if I am correct that the symbols were adopted only afterwards, could not include this description.
